As a SAS drive it needs a hardware PERC, Smart Array or HBA and a SAS backplane. The carrier must match: Dell 13th gen LFF trays do not fit 14th to 16th gen bays, and HPE carriers are not interchangeable with Dell, so we match the tray to your server. Seagate rates it for 550 TB per year of workload. We do not quote RAID 5 for an array of 24TB disks; even at its 285 MB/s peak a rebuild takes close to a full day, so RAID 6 or RAID 10 is our quote. The 20TB costs less.

Installation Notes

Seagate ships it as 512e; Fast Format converts it to 4Kn in the field. Keep one sector format across an array, and boot it with UEFI and GPT.

Every part we sell is tested and covered by our 180-day warranty. Volume pricing starts at 5 units, and our team at 1-800-778-1545 can quote a fleet refresh or a mixed parts order. Request a quote or add it to your cart; we confirm fit against your service tag before it ships.
