Compatibility
This is a Rome part for socket SP3; it does not fit SP5 boards built for EPYC 9004. The P suffix makes it single-socket only; it will not run in a two-socket board. At 155 W it runs on the standard fans and heatsink in the 4 x 3.5-inch and 8 x 2.5-inch Dell PowerEdge R6515; the 10-drive NVMe chassis needs high-performance fans and caps ambient at 30°C. Memory runs at DDR4-3200 with one DIMM per channel and drops to 2933 at two per channel; the R6515 takes RDIMMs or LRDIMMs, not UDIMMs. Browse matching parts for the Dell PowerEdge R6515.
When to Choose This
The 7302P is the balanced Rome part: 16 cores, the full 128 MB of L3 and full memory bandwidth, which covers a 16-core Windows Server license exactly. It suits general virtualization, SQL Server Standard and file services. If you want faster cores in the same 155 W, the Milan EPYC 7313P adds Zen 3 and a 3.7 GHz boost.
