Refurbished Dell 151Y6 TPM 2.0 V3 module, the plug-in TPM for Dell 15th gen PowerEdge system boards. A Dell TPM is a plug-in module that generates and stores keys, passwords and certificates in hardware, the anchor for BitLocker and pre-boot measurements. Dell states that once installed it is cryptographically bound to that system board and cannot be moved to another server.

151Y6 is listed for the 15th gen TPM connector; resellers also list it for 16th gen boards. It does not fit 13th or 14th gen boards, which take K98XH or FMYG3. When to Choose This

Choose 151Y6 when a 15th gen server arrived without a TPM and now needs BitLocker, Secure Boot attestation or a compliance audit under NIST, CMMC, HIPAA or PCI DSS. On an R650 or R750 joining a managed fleet, fit it before imaging. Fair warning: a module bound to a board that is later replaced under service does not move to the new board; plan for a second TPM.

Installation Notes

Seat the module with the server off, then enable TPM Security in System Setup. Dell states the module is cryptographically bound to that board once installed, and a removed TPM cannot be reinstalled on any board. Move BitLocker recovery keys off the server before any board swap.
