Dell Broadcom 5720 1Gb NDC for Blade Servers

Refurbished Dell Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1GbE, a blade network daughter card for the NDC connector in Dell PowerEdge blade servers. A blade NDC supplies a Dell blade's LOM ports on fabric A; a mezzanine card adds ports on fabric B or C. Both connect through the chassis midplane, so the I/O module in the matching fabric decides what links up.

Compatibility

This card fits Dell PowerEdge blade servers only, on the blade's NDC connector. It does not fit a rack server rNDC slot, a PCIe slot or a mezzanine position. Match the card to your blade model, then confirm the chassis fabric A I/O modules are Ethernet modules that run 1GbE. Ports 3 and 4 link only when those modules have 32 internal ports; with 16-port modules the blade sees two ports. There are no external jacks: all cabling happens at the I/O module. When to Choose This

Choose the 5720 NDC for management, backup and general server traffic on blades where 1GbE per port is enough and the fabric A modules are already 1GbE. If the blade carries virtualization or iSCSI storage traffic, the Intel X710 or X520 10GbE blade NDC is the better fit, provided the fabric A modules are 10GbE. The Intel i350 quad-port NDC is the same class of card; pick by the driver your OS image already standardizes on.
