About this part
Refurbished Dell Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1GbE OCP NIC 3.0 card, a gigabit network mezzanine for the OCP slot in Dell 15th and 16th gen PowerEdge servers. OCP NIC 3.0 is the network mezzanine standard on Dell 15th and 16th gen rack servers, replacing the earlier rNDC. The card sits in its own OCP slot, so the onboard ports never cost a PCIe slot.

Compatibility
This card needs an OCP NIC 3.0 slot. It does not fit the rNDC connector on 13th and 14th gen servers, a PCIe slot, or the entry single-socket 15th gen models that ship with only an embedded dual 1GbE LOM and no OCP slot. The four RJ45 ports run 1000Base-T over Cat5e or better. Dell builds OCP NIC 3.0 cards in more than one retention style, so confirm the card against your service tag before ordering. When to Choose This
The 5720 quad 1GbE OCP card is the low-cost default for management, backup and general LAN traffic on servers whose heavy traffic rides PCIe NICs. For virtualization hosts, storage networks or anything east-west, we quote the Broadcom 57414 25GbE or Intel X710 10GbE OCP card instead; four gigabit ports will bottleneck a modern hypervisor long before the CPUs do.
