Dell Broadcom 57414 Dual Port 10/25GbE SFP 28

Refurbished Dell Broadcom 57414 dual-port 25GbE rNDC, an SFP28 daughter card for the rNDC slot in Dell 14th gen PowerEdge servers. The rNDC (rack Network Daughter Card) is Dell's mezzanine LOM for 13th and 14th gen rack servers: it sits on its own connector, so the onboard ports never cost a PCIe slot. Swapping it changes the built-in fabric.

Compatibility

It fits only the dedicated rNDC connector on the motherboard: not a PCIe slot, not the bNDC slot in Dell PowerEdge blade servers, and not 14th gen models built around a LOM riser instead of an rNDC. 15th and 16th gen servers moved to OCP NIC 3.0; this card does not fit them. The SFP28 cages run 25GbE, or 10GbE with SFP+ optics and DACs; optics and DACs are sold separately. Update the server BIOS and NIC firmware through Lifecycle Controller after the swap. When to Choose This

The 57414 is the rNDC we quote for hyperconverged clusters, all-flash storage networks and dense virtualization hosts where 10GbE is the bottleneck. The Mellanox ConnectX-4 Lx 25GbE rNDC is the alternative where RoCE tuning on Mellanox drivers is already in place. If the switch only does 10GbE, the Intel X710 quad 10GbE rNDC gives more ports for the money. Check that the switch ports and optics are 25GbE before ordering.
