About this part
Refurbished Dell dual-port 10GBase-T LOM riser card, a copper 10GbE network mezzanine for the LOM riser slot in Dell PowerEdge servers. Dell's LOM riser card adds two network ports beside the two embedded 1GbE ports on PowerEdge servers that have no rNDC slot. It installs in the dedicated LOM riser slot, so the extra ports do not take a PCIe slot.

Compatibility
This is the LOM riser card, not an rNDC: rack servers with a full rNDC slot use a larger daughter card on a different connector. It is not an OCP NIC 3.0 card either, whatever the OCP in the listing name suggests. One LOM riser card fits per server. The two RJ45 ports run 10GBase-T, so plan Cat6a for full-length 10GbE runs. Match the card to your service tag before you order, because the riser card options differ between chassis. Browse matching parts for the Dell PowerEdge R540.
When to Choose This
Choose the 10GBase-T LOM riser card when the top-of-rack switch is copper 10GbE and you want two more ports without spending a PCIe slot. If your switches are SFP+, the 10Gb SFP+ LOM riser card runs cooler with DACs; for a management or backup network the 1GbE version is enough. Need four copper 10GbE ports? Add an Intel X550 PCIe adapter beside it.
