Dell Intel X520 10GbE Dual-Port Mezzanine NIC for Blade Servers

Refurbished Dell Intel X520 dual-port 10GbE, a blade mezzanine card for the fabric B or C mezzanine slot in Dell PowerEdge blade servers. A blade NDC supplies a Dell blade's LOM ports on fabric A; a mezzanine card adds ports on fabric B or C. Both reach the network through the chassis midplane, so the I/O module in the matching fabric decides what links up.

Compatibility

This is a mezzanine card, not an NDC, so it adds ports rather than replacing the blade's LOM. It seats in the fabric B or C mezzanine connector. Match the card to your blade model, then check both chassis I/O module slots for that fabric: they must hold Ethernet modules, and 10GbE modules for 10GbE links. When to Choose This

Use the X520 mezzanine to add a dedicated 10GbE fabric to a blade for vMotion, backup or software iSCSI traffic, on the in-box ixgbe driver. When the storage design relies on hardware iSCSI or FCoE offload, or you want NPAR partitions, the Broadcom 57810S mezzanine is the better pick. Check which mezzanine fabric is free on the blade before ordering; a populated fabric means pulling the card that is already there.
