Dell Intel X710 10GB NDC for Blade Servers

Refurbished Dell Intel X710 dual-port 10GbE, a blade network daughter card for the NDC connector in Dell PowerEdge blade servers. A blade NDC supplies a Dell blade's LOM ports on fabric A, while a mezzanine card adds ports on fabric B or C. Both connect through the chassis midplane, so the I/O module in the matching fabric decides what links up.

Compatibility

The X710 NDC fits the blade's NDC connector only. It is not interchangeable with a rack server rNDC, a mezzanine card or a PCIe adapter. Match the card to your blade model, since NDC support varies by blade, and confirm the chassis fabric A I/O modules are 10GbE Ethernet modules. Ports link through the midplane, so there is nothing to cable at the blade. The OS needs the Intel i40e driver; older hypervisor builds that only carry ixgbe will not see this card. When to Choose This

The X710 NDC is the 10GbE blade LOM to choose for current hypervisors: PCIe 3.0 x8 host bandwidth and the i40e driver's virtualization features. Choose the Intel X520 NDC instead when the blade runs an older OS image that only ships ixgbe. For blades whose fabric A modules are 1GbE and will stay that way, the Broadcom 5720 or Intel i350 quad-port NDC gives more ports for less.
