About this part

Refurbished Dell Intel X710/i350 rNDC with two 10Gb SFP+ and two 1GbE RJ45 ports, a mixed daughter card for the rNDC slot in Dell 13th and 14th gen PowerEdge servers. The rNDC (rack Network Daughter Card) is Dell's mezzanine LOM for 13th and 14th gen rack servers: it sits on its own connector, so the onboard ports never cost a PCIe slot. Swapping it changes the built-in fabric.

Compatibility

It fits only the dedicated rNDC connector on the motherboard: not a PCIe slot, not the bNDC slot in Dell PowerEdge blade servers, and not 14th gen models built around a LOM riser instead of an rNDC. 15th and 16th gen servers moved to OCP NIC 3.0; this card does not fit them. The 10GbE pair are SFP+ cages, with optics and DACs sold separately; the gigabit pair are RJ45. Browse matching parts for the Dell PowerEdge R740xd.

When to Choose This

This is the rNDC we quote most for SFP+ racks: two 10GbE ports for VM and storage traffic plus two copper gigabit ports for management or PXE. It replaces the older Intel X520/i350 with a newer controller and the same layout. If all your traffic is 10GbE, the Intel X710 quad SFP+ rNDC doubles the fast ports; the Broadcom 57800S suits racks that rely on FCoE offload.
