About this part
Refurbished Dell PERC H355 PCIe adapter, a cacheless 12 Gb/s RAID controller for a PCIe slot in Dell 15th gen PowerEdge servers. The PERC H355 is Dell's cacheless PERC 11 controller, built on the Broadcom SAS3816 RAID-on-chip with a PCIe 4.0 host link and 16 SAS lanes. It runs RAID 0, 1 and 10 in write-through mode, or presents drives as non-RAID, for boot mirrors and simple volumes.

Compatibility
This is the PCIe adapter H355: it seats in a standard PCIe slot and cables to the drive backplane from there, so it is not interchangeable with the front-mount H355. The PERC backplane cable is a chassis part; confirm the server has it before you order. The H355 has no NVMe support. Do not mix PERC 11 cards with PERC 9 or PERC 10 controllers in one system. When to Choose This
Pick the H355 adapter for a small hardware mirror: a RAID 1 boot pair plus a RAID 10 data set, or drives presented as non-RAID. It does RAID 0, 1 and 10 only; RAID 5 and 6 need the H755 adapter. With no cache it runs write-through, which is fine for boot and light file serving. For a write-heavy database on this platform, the H755 adapter with 8 GB NV cache is the better card.
