Refurbished Dell A8 ReadyRails static rail kit, the 1U stab-in rail for Dell 14th gen PowerEdge servers that carry rail identifier A8. Dell matches rails to servers by rail identifier, so the A or B code is what has to fit your chassis, not the server name. Sliding rails pull the server out of the rack for service, while static rails fit more rack types but hold the chassis in place.

The A8 is a stab-in static kit: the inner members bolt to the chassis and stab into the outer members already in the rack. It fits 4-post square-hole and unthreaded round-hole racks tool-less, threaded round-hole racks with a minor conversion and your own screws, and 2-post racks in flush or center mount, which the sliding rails cannot do. When to Choose This

Choose the A8 for a 2-post telco rack, a shallow cabinet, or a server that will not be opened in place. If you expect to service the machine in the rack, the sliding A11 for the same chassis is the better buy. Fair warning: static rails cost you an unrack every time the lid comes off, so pick by how often you expect to be inside the server.
