About this part
Refurbished Dell 2U static rail kit for the Dell 14th gen PowerEdge R740xd2 storage server, an L-bracket kit that holds the deep 26-bay chassis without a service slide. Dell matches rails to servers by rail identifier, so the A or B code is what has to fit your chassis, not the server name. Sliding rails pull the server out of the rack for service, while static rails fit more rack types but hold the chassis in place.

Compatibility
This is the only rail Dell lists for the R740xd2: an L-bracket static kit, generic tool-less, for 4-post square-hole and unthreaded round-hole racks. It has no threaded-hole option, no 2-post mount and no CMA attachment, and it does not extend the server for service. The R740xd2 is longer than the standard 2U chassis, so the rails Dell sells for the other 2U servers of the same generation do not fit it. Browse matching parts for the Dell PowerEdge R740xd2.
When to Choose This
Choose this kit because it is the one that fits: the R740xd2 ships on L-bracket static rails and there is no sliding alternative from Dell. Plan rack depth with the chassis length in mind and leave rear clearance for the cables, since there is no arm to manage them. Fair warning: resellers label this kit several ways; match the part number to your rail, not the label on the box.
