Dell runs R750 processors of 165 W and below on the 1U standard heat sink and moves non-GPU builds above 165 W, plus the 165 W 8-core Gold 6334, to the 2U high performance heat sink, part 8F34X. Fan grade then steps from standard through HPR Silver to HPR Gold by CPU TDP, drive layout and GPU population.

8F34X is the 2U high performance heat sink Dell names in its R750 tables, required above 165 W in non-GPU builds and for the Gold 6334. GPU builds differ: Dell requires 1U T-type heat sinks with a GPU shroud, so this kit is not the GPU part. HPR Silver fans sit between standard and HPR Gold. When to Choose This

Choose SLVR for a non-GPU R750 moving to a CPU above 165 W, or to the Gold 6334, in a layout Dell's tables rate for Silver fans. If the build adds GPUs, a dense 2.5-inch front, or BOSS-S1 on 2.5-inch drives, Dell moves it to HPR Gold and the GOLD kit on the neighboring page.
