Enterprise 900GB 10K SAS - Refurbished

Refurbished enterprise 900GB 10K SAS hard drive, a 2.5-inch drive for SFF SAS bays in Dell PowerEdge and HPE ProLiant servers. Our refurbished enterprise SAS hard drives form the capacity tier of a server: previously deployed, tested, and sold by capacity, spindle speed and form factor rather than brand, since the manufacturer varies by lot. They run on any PERC, Smart Array or HBA with a SAS backplane, at whatever link speed the controller and backplane negotiate.

Specifications

Compatibility

SAS only: the drive needs a SAS controller (PERC, Smart Array or an HBA) and a SAS backplane, and it will not run from onboard SATA. A 3.5-inch bay takes it only in a 2.5-to-3.5 adapter carrier. Dell changed tray design between 13th gen and 14th gen, and HPE carriers are their own design, so we match the tray to the chassis you run. Link speed is whatever the controller and backplane negotiate. Browse matching parts for the Dell PowerEdge R830.

When to Choose This

The 900GB 10K is a solid value for boot volumes with room for local logs, small VM datastores and replacements in an existing 900GB array, including four-socket hosts like the R830. It sits between the 600GB and 1.2TB 10K; match capacities within a virtual disk. For write-heavy databases, a SAS SSD is the better choice.
