The Xeon Bronze 3200 series is the entry tier of Intel's 2nd Gen Xeon Scalable (Cascade Lake-SP) family, with six DDR4-2133 memory channels and 48 PCIe 3.0 lanes per CPU. It is for light storage and infrastructure roles at the lowest cost and power.

Compatibility
This Cascade Lake-SP part fits LGA 3647 boards only, not LGA 4189 servers. A 1st Gen Xeon Scalable server needs a Cascade Lake capable BIOS first (2.1.x or newer on Dell 14th gen), flashed with the old CPUs installed; do not mix generations. This SKU sets memory at DDR4-2133, so faster DIMMs clock down. Silver and Bronze are two-socket only. In a two-socket build, run a matched pair: the same SKU in both sockets. When to Choose This
The Bronze 3204 is a boot-the-box part: six cores with no Hyper-Threading and no Turbo Boost, fixed at 1.9 GHz. It suits backup targets, file servers and storage nodes where the CPU mostly moves data between drives and the network. For anything virtualized, the Silver 4210R gives ten cores, twenty threads and DDR4-2400 at 100 W for a small step up. Trap: DDR4-2133 means faster DIMMs run slower here.
