Refurbished Intel Xeon E-2136, a 6-core, 12-thread processor for LGA 1151 one-socket servers. The Xeon E-2100 series is Intel's Coffee Lake entry server family for LGA 1151 boards on the C246 chipset, with up to six cores, two DDR4-2666 ECC memory channels and 16 PCIe 3.0 lanes per CPU. It targets small business and branch servers that need ECC memory and fast cores.

Compatibility
This is a Coffee Lake E-2100 part for C246 boards. It shares the LGA 1151 socket with the Xeon E3-1200 v5 and v6, but their C236 boards will not run it. The Dell PowerEdge R240, R340 and T340 take one processor with unbuffered ECC DDR4 UDIMMs only, four slots and 64 GB maximum at up to DDR4-2666; RDIMMs are not supported. When to Choose This
The E-2136 is the six-core workhorse of the E-2100 series: twelve threads at 3.3 GHz base and 4.5 GHz turbo. It suits a small Hyper-V or VMware host, a busy file server or a mixed application server. The four-core E-2134 clocks slightly higher, but runs out of threads sooner under VM load. Plan memory first: 64 GB is the ceiling on these servers, and it often limits VM count before the CPU does.
