Refurbished Intel Xeon E5-2620 v4, an 8-core, 16-thread processor for LGA 2011-3 two-socket servers. The Xeon E5-2600 v4 series is Intel's Broadwell-EP refresh of the Grantley (C610) platform: up to 22 cores, four DDR4 channels and 40 PCIe 3.0 lanes per CPU. It is the final step for Dell 13th gen and HPE Gen9, still useful for fleet capacity adds and labs.

Compatibility
This Broadwell-EP part fits LGA 2011-3 Grantley boards only, not LGA 2011 (E5 v2) or LGA 3647 sockets. It holds memory to DDR4-2133 even with faster DIMMs. The R530 has 12 DIMM slots, not 24. At 85 W it runs on standard heatsinks. It is within HPE's 105 W limit for v3-to-v4 upgrades on the DL160 and DL180 Gen9. In a Dell PowerEdge that shipped with v3, update the BIOS before installing v4 parts. v3 and v4 cannot be mixed in one server. In a two-socket build, run a matched pair: the same SKU in both sockets. When to Choose This
The 2620 v4 is the entry v4 part: 8 cores at 85 W, a sound choice for file servers, domain controllers, backup targets and lab hosts. It caps memory at DDR4-2133. For two more cores in the same 85 W, the E5-2630 v4 is the better pick; for faster cores, the E5-2667 v4 runs 3.2 GHz base at 135 W.
