The Xeon Gold 6100 series is the performance Gold tier of Intel's 1st Gen Xeon Scalable (Skylake-SP) family, running six DDR4-2666 memory channels, three UPI links and 48 PCIe 3.0 lanes per CPU across 6 to 22 cores. It covers frequency parts for per-core licensing and dense parts for virtualization.

Compatibility
This Skylake-SP part fits LGA 3647 boards only, not the older LGA 2011-3 sockets. Memory runs at up to DDR4-2666. HPE ships CPUs of 130 W or more with the high-performance heatsink on the ProLiant DL360 and DL380 Gen10. At 140 W it sits at the ceiling of the Dell PowerEdge R440. In a two-socket build, run a matched pair: the same SKU in both sockets. A four-socket HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen10 build needs four of the same SKU and the CPU mezzanine board kit. When to Choose This
The 6132 is the 14-core clock part: 2.6 GHz base for databases and per-core licensed hosts that want more than 12 cores without losing clock. Against the Gold 5120 it adds 400 MHz of base clock, DDR4-2666 and a third UPI link, for 35 W more. Step-up: on Dell 14th gen boards, 2nd Gen (Cascade Lake) parts such as the Gold 6242 drop in after a BIOS update.
