About this part
Refurbished Intel Xeon Gold 6136, a 12-core, 24-thread processor for LGA 3647 two-socket and four-socket servers. The Xeon Gold 6100 series is the performance Gold tier of Intel's 1st Gen Xeon Scalable (Skylake-SP) family, running six DDR4-2666 memory channels, three UPI links and 48 PCIe 3.0 lanes per CPU across 6 to 22 cores. It covers frequency parts for per-core licensing and dense parts for virtualization.

Compatibility
This Skylake-SP part fits LGA 3647 boards only, not the older LGA 2011-3 sockets. Memory runs at up to DDR4-2666. HPE ships CPUs of 130 W or more with the high-performance heatsink on the ProLiant DL360 and DL380 Gen10. In a two-socket build, run a matched pair: the same SKU in both sockets. A four-socket HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen10 build needs four of the same SKU and the CPU mezzanine board kit. Browse matching parts for the Dell PowerEdge R640.
When to Choose This
The 6136 is the 12-core high-clock part: 3.0 GHz base with 24.75 MB of cache for databases, EDA and analytics licensed per core. The trap is power: 150 W against 125 W for the 2.6 GHz Gold 6126, the better choice when cooling or PSU budget is tight. Step-up: on Dell 14th gen boards, 2nd Gen (Cascade Lake) parts such as the Gold 6246 drop in after a BIOS update.
