The Xeon Gold 6100 series is the performance Gold tier of Intel's 1st Gen Xeon Scalable (Skylake-SP) family, running six DDR4-2666 memory channels, three UPI links and 48 PCIe 3.0 lanes per CPU across 6 to 22 cores. It covers frequency parts for per-core licensing and dense parts for virtualization.

Compatibility
This Skylake-SP part fits LGA 3647 boards only, not the older LGA 2011-3 sockets. Memory runs at up to DDR4-2666. The HPE ProLiant DL360 and DL380 Gen10 run it on the standard heatsink. At 125 W it is the top of the Dell PowerEdge R540 processor range. In a two-socket build, run a matched pair: the same SKU in both sockets.
