Compatibility
This is a 4th Gen Xeon Scalable (Sapphire Rapids) part for LGA 4677 boards only; it does not fit the LGA 4189 or LGA 3647 sockets of earlier generations. At 205 W it needs the L-type heatsink and Dell's high-performance Gold fans in the 1U Dell PowerEdge R660, and the high-performance heatsink in the Dell PowerEdge R660xs and R760xs, where Dell lists it at the 32-core ceiling. The 6438Y+ is the consolidation part of the 6400 range: 32 cores at 205 W with DDR5-4800 and all four accelerators enabled, so a pair gives 64 cores for dense VMware and Hyper-V hosts.
