Compatibility
This is a 4th Gen Xeon Scalable (Sapphire Rapids) part for LGA 4677 boards only; it does not fit the LGA 4189 or LGA 3647 sockets of earlier generations. At 225 W it needs the L-type heatsink and Dell's high-performance Gold fans in the 1U Dell PowerEdge R660, and the high-performance heatsink in the Dell PowerEdge R660xs and R760xs; Dell's xs thermal tables restrict some drive layouts above 205 W. The 6448Y is the top 32-core Gold part the xs boards accept: 2.1 GHz base, 4.1 GHz turbo and DDR5-4800, for VM hosts, container platforms and analytics where both cores and clock matter.
