Refurbished Intel Xeon Gold 6548Y+, a 32-core, 64-thread processor for LGA 4677 two-socket servers. The Xeon Gold 6500 series is the performance Gold tier of Intel's 5th Gen Xeon Scalable (Emerald Rapids, 2024) family for LGA 4677, with eight DDR5 channels at up to 5200 MT/s and 80 PCIe 5.0 lanes per CPU. It is the clock and memory step up from the Gold 6400 series.

Compatibility
This is a 5th Gen Xeon Scalable (Emerald Rapids) part for LGA 4677 boards only; it does not fit LGA 4189 or LGA 3647 sockets, and the system BIOS should be current before the swap. At 250 W it needs the L-type heatsink and Dell's high-performance Gold fans in the 1U Dell PowerEdge R660; Dell restricts 10-bay layouts with rear drives at this TDP, so check the thermal table against your build. The 6548Y+ is the consolidation part of the 5th Gen Gold range: 32 cores with DDR5-5200 and all four accelerators enabled, so a pair gives 64 cores for dense VM hosts. Against the Gold 6438Y+ it runs a 500 MHz higher base and faster memory for 45 W more. The trap is per-core licensing: the Gold 6542Y with 24 faster cores may cost less overall.
