Refurbished Intel Xeon Platinum 8360Y, a 36-core, 72-thread processor for LGA 4189 two-socket servers. The Xeon Platinum 8300 series is the top bin of Intel's 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable (Ice Lake-SP) family: up to 40 cores per socket, eight DDR4-3200 memory channels and 64 PCIe 4.0 lanes per CPU.

Compatibility
This is an Ice Lake-SP part for LGA 4189 boards only; it does not fit the older LGA 3647 sockets. At 250 W it is a high-TDP part. In the 1U Dell PowerEdge R650 it takes Dell's T-type heatsink and calls for the high-performance fan configuration; check Dell's thermal restriction table against your drive layout. The 2U R750 has more headroom. On the HPE ProLiant DL360 and DL380 Gen10 Plus, HPE requires the high-performance heatsink kit P27095-B21 for any processor of 150 W or more. When to Choose This
The 8360Y gives 36 cores at 2.4 GHz with full DDR4-3200 and Speed Select profiles at 250 W, 72 cores per node. It fits dense VMware and Hyper-V hosts, large SQL Server instances and HPC. For lower power at 36 cores, the Platinum 8352V runs 195 W but drops memory to DDR4-2933; for the full 40 cores, the Platinum 8380. Per-core licensed software is the trap: 72 licenses per node add up fast.
