Refurbished Intel Xeon Platinum 8368, a 38-core, 76-thread processor for LGA 4189 two-socket servers. The Xeon Platinum 8300 series is the top bin of Intel's 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable (Ice Lake-SP) family: up to 40 cores per socket, eight DDR4-3200 memory channels and 64 PCIe 4.0 lanes per CPU.

Compatibility
This is an Ice Lake-SP part for LGA 4189 boards only; it does not fit the older LGA 3647 sockets. At 270 W it sits at the top of the thermal envelope. In the 1U Dell PowerEdge R650 it needs Dell's high-performance gold fan set; check Dell's thermal restriction table against your drive configuration. The 2U R750 has more headroom. On the HPE ProLiant DL360 and DL380 Gen10 Plus, HPE requires the high-performance heatsink kit P27095-B21 for any processor of 150 W or more. When to Choose This
The 8368 is the consolidation part: a pair gives 76 cores and 152 threads per node, the right shape for dense VMware and Hyper-V hosts, large SQL Server instances and HPC nodes. If your software is licensed per core, it is the wrong pick; the Gold 6348 gives you 28 faster cores per socket for less money and a smaller licensing bill. The cost at this tier is power: two of these draw 540 W before memory and drives, so size the power supplies for it.
