Refurbished Intel Xeon Platinum 8368Q, a 38-core, 76-thread processor for LGA 4189 two-socket servers. The Xeon Platinum 8300 series is the top bin of Intel's 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable (Ice Lake-SP) family: up to 40 cores per socket, eight DDR4-3200 memory channels and 64 PCIe 4.0 lanes per CPU.

Compatibility

This is an Ice Lake-SP part for LGA 4189 boards only; it does not fit the older LGA 3647 sockets. The Q suffix marks Intel's liquid-cooled SKU: it is binned for higher clocks than the standard Platinum 8368 because it expects a liquid cold plate, and Dell lists it as requiring liquid cooling. Do not install it under an air heatsink; confirm your server lists the 8368Q with its liquid cooling kit. In a two-socket build, run a matched pair: the same SKU in both sockets. When to Choose This

The 8368Q is for liquid-cooled HPC and dense compute racks: 38 cores at 2.6 GHz base and 3.7 GHz turbo, against 2.4 and 3.4 GHz on the air-cooled Platinum 8368. That clock gain is the reason to buy it. In an air-cooled server it is the wrong part; buy the 8368 instead, with the same 38 cores and 57 MB of cache at 270 W.
