Compatibility
This Cascade Lake-SP part fits LGA 3647 boards only, not LGA 4189 servers. A 1st Gen Xeon Scalable server needs a Cascade Lake capable BIOS first (2.1.x or newer on Dell 14th gen), flashed with the old CPUs installed; do not mix generations. This SKU sets memory at DDR4-2400, so faster DIMMs clock down. Silver and Bronze are two-socket only. In a two-socket build, run a matched pair: the same SKU in both sockets. When to Choose This
The Silver 4210R refreshes the 4210: the same ten cores and 3.2 GHz turbo, with the base raised to 2.4 GHz at 100 W. It is the general-purpose Silver for virtualization and file services. Step to the Silver 4214R for two more cores and a 3.5 GHz turbo at the same 100 W. Trap: DDR4-2400 caps memory bandwidth, so heavy database work belongs on a Gold 6200 part with DDR4-2933.
