Choose the 480GB S4520 for boot mirrors with room for logs and images, or a small read-intensive volume. It writes twice as fast as the 240GB and carries 2.5 PBW. For a VM datastore step up to the 960GB, which reaches 510 MB/s writes. It is read-intensive; mixed-use write duty belongs on the S4620. Hardware AES-256 encryption is built in.
