A 2.5-inch SATA drive at 6 Gb/s: it runs on PERC, Smart Array and HBA controllers and on SAS or SATA backplanes, since SAS controllers accept SATA drives, but not in an NVMe-only bay. Dell 13th gen trays differ from 14th to 16th gen trays, and HPE uses its own carriers; we match the tray to your chassis. A 3.5-inch bay needs a 2.5-to-3.5 adapter carrier. When to Choose This

The A400 960 GB is for read-mostly storage on a budget: lab VMs, scratch space, a software repository. It is a client drive, rated 300 TBW with no power-loss protection on the datasheet, so it is not a RAID write drive.
