A 2.5-inch SATA drive at 6 Gb/s: it runs on PERC, Smart Array and HBA controllers and on SAS or SATA backplanes, since SAS controllers accept SATA drives, but not in an NVMe-only bay. Dell 13th gen trays differ from 14th to 16th gen trays, and HPE uses its own carriers; we match the tray to your chassis. A 3.5-inch bay needs a 2.5-to-3.5 adapter carrier. When to Choose This

The 7.68 TB DC600M is for dense SATA flash: large datastores and backup landing zones where bay count is the limit. Its steady-state random write drops to 34,000 IOPS at this size, close to the PM893 7.68 TB, so at this size either drive fits the same read-heavy capacity role. For write-heavy work, spread it across more 1.92 TB drives instead.
