About this part
Refurbished Dell PERC H330 PCIe card, a cacheless 12 Gb/s RAID card for the low profile PCIe slots in Dell 14th gen PowerEdge R440 and R540 servers. The PERC H330 is the entry controller of Dell's PERC 9 family, built on the LSI SAS3008 with 8 lanes of 12 Gb/s SAS and no cache or battery. It suits boot mirrors, RAID 10 sets and non-RAID drives rather than parity arrays.

Compatibility
The card plugs into a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot on a low profile bracket and reaches the drive backplane through internal SAS cables, which belong to the chassis and are not part of the card. It is the adapter H330, so it will not seat in an integrated mini PERC slot. Where an R540 already runs a PERC 11 controller, keep the systems separate: PERC 11 does not mix with PERC 9 in one server. Browse matching parts for the Dell PowerEdge R540.
When to Choose This
Pick this H330 when an R440 or R540 needs a mirrored boot volume, RAID 10 or plain non-RAID disks and nothing more. Parity arrays want cache: the H730P adds 2 GB and the H740P 8 GB of NV cache for write-heavy work. When ZFS or Ceph owns the disks, the HBA330 is the better choice than a RAID controller in non-RAID mode.
