The PERC H330 is the entry controller of Dell's PERC 9 family, built on the LSI SAS3008 with 8 lanes of 12 Gb/s SAS and no cache or battery. It suits boot mirrors, RAID 10 sets and non-RAID drives rather than parity arrays.

Compatibility
This is the adapter form: it takes a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot and cables to the drive backplane, for servers that have no mini PERC slot. It does not fit an integrated mini slot; that is the H330 Mini Mono. The part numbers on this listing cover both bracket heights, so confirm the bracket your slot needs when you order. Backplane SAS cables stay with the chassis, and there is no battery to fit. When to Choose This
Choose the H330 adapter for a tower or entry rack running a boot mirror, a RAID 10 set or a handful of non-RAID drives. On the entry single-socket 14th gen class the H730P is the cached step up; Dell offers no H740P there. For ZFS or Storage Spaces Direct, take the HBA330. Skip the H330 for RAID 5 on spinning disks: Dell notes the missing cache costs parity performance.
