Refurbished Dell PERC H355 Front, a cacheless 12 Gb/s RAID controller for the front PERC slot in Dell 15th and 16th gen PowerEdge servers. The PERC H355 is Dell's cacheless PERC 11 controller, built on the Broadcom SAS3816 RAID-on-chip with a PCIe 4.0 host link and 16 SAS lanes. It runs RAID 0, 1 and 10 in write-through mode, or presents drives as non-RAID, for boot mirrors and simple volumes.

Compatibility
This is the front-mount H355: it installs in the dedicated front controller position and takes its host link and power through chassis cables, so it never consumes a PCIe slot and will not fit one. The H355 adapter is the slot version. The cables stay with the chassis. The H355 has no NVMe support, so NVMe drives need the H755N. Do not mix PERC 11 cards with PERC 9 or PERC 10 controllers in one system. Virtual disks from an H330, H730 or H830 cannot be imported onto PERC 11; back up and rebuild those. When to Choose This
The H355 does RAID 0, 1 and 10 only; RAID 5 and 6 need the H755 or H745, or the H965i on 16th gen. That makes it the right card for boot mirrors, RAID 10 on a handful of SSDs, or non-RAID pass-through on a mixed build. With no cache it runs write-through, so we do not quote it for write-heavy databases or large spinning arrays; take the H755 there.
