Refurbished Dell PERC H740P Mini Mono with 8 GB NV cache, a RAID controller for the integrated mini PERC slot in Dell 14th gen PowerEdge servers. The PERC H740P belongs to Dell's PERC 10 family, built on the Broadcom SAS3508 RAID-on-chip with 8 GB of non-volatile cache. It is the production controller of the 14th gen PowerEdge line for write-heavy and transactional local storage.

Compatibility
The Mini Mono H740P drops into the dedicated mini PERC socket on the system board and does not use a PCIe slot; it will not fit a standard slot, and the PCIe adapter H740P will not fit the socket. It is a 14th gen part: 13th gen servers have no H740P support, and 15th and 16th gen servers moved to front-mount controllers. The battery must be connected for write-back cache. When to Choose This
The H740P is the production storage default for write-intensive or transactional workloads where local storage matters: SQL volumes, RAID 5 or 6 over SSDs, and VM datastores on the box. Its 8 GB NV cache is four times the 2 GB on the H730P, which still covers a light file server. If the hypervisor owns redundancy, choose the HBA330.
Installation Notes
After a swap, import the foreign configuration through HII or iDRAC so the virtual disks come back online. Enhanced HBA mode needs PERC 10 firmware 50.5.0-1750 or later.
