Refurbished Dell TRJT7 heatsink and fan kit for the processor and fan bays of Dell 14th gen PowerEdge R740 and R740xd servers. Dell's R740 thermal table moves any CPU above 125 W from the 1U heat sink to the taller 2U heat sink, while GPU builds take 1U high performance heat sinks with six high performance fans. With a GPU installed, Dell also pairs 150 W 8-core, 165 W 12-core, 200 W and 205 W CPUs with high performance fans.

Compatibility
TRJT7 is the 2U heatsink sold for higher-TDP CPUs in the R740 and R740xd. GPU builds are the exception: Dell specifies 1U high performance heat sinks under a GPU air shroud, so this 2U kit is not the GPU part. When to Choose This
Choose this kit when an R740 or R740xd moves past 125 W, for example to a 150 W or hotter Gold or Platinum, without a GPU. The trap: a 1U heat sink pulled from a 125 W build looks interchangeable and is not.
